A jigsaw of your own town is a different kind of puzzle. As it comes together, you rediscover the streets you walk every day, the park behind the house and the river you cycle along. This city map puzzle shows exactly the area you pick, with its streets, water and parks.
It's printed on sturdy cardboard with a glossy finish. The result: 500 pieces, packed in a box. Enough for a long evening around the kitchen table, with the family or just the two of you.
Type in your address, or the name of a village or city, anywhere in the world. Use the zoom to decide how much of it you see. Next, choose a style such as Minimal, Night or Heart, and a colour. If you live by a river or the sea, the Blue water style makes it stand out nicely. Adding a marker is up to you: a pin, a heart, a star or a little house. You write the title and names; the place name and coordinates are added automatically. The live preview follows every change, and designing is free.
With a puzzle of your own town, this game starts by itself. Put a marker on your home, the school or your grandparents' house, and see who finds the piece with the little house first. The winner gets to put in the very last piece.
A few tips: work on the edge and the text first. Then sort out the pieces with water and green, which stand out straight away. Leave the many street pieces until last, when junctions and bends help you find your way.
For families who have just moved and want to get to know their new neighbourhood. For grandparents who would love to see the village they grew up in again. For couples piecing together the place of their first date. And for anyone who would rather puzzle than hang pictures. If you'd like the place on your wall after all, you'll find it as a personalised map print in a black wooden frame.
