Here's how to make Vodka-based Disinfectant Hand Gel or Spray
With Corona Virus or Covid-19 virus, good hygiene is extremely important to protect yourself from infection but also to protect your loved ones. It is strongly advised to wash or disinfect your hands sufficiently. However, as a result, disinfectant hand gel or spray has become a scarce product. Both in supermarkets and pharmacies, these are as good as sold out. However, you can easily make your own disinfectant hand gel or spray based on vodka.
Alcohol kills bacteria, but it should be of a high alcohol content, preferably above 60%, so the higher the alcohol content, the more effective it is, of course.
Disinfectant Hand Gel
Ingredients
- 2 parts alcohol (96% alcohol or high alcohol vodka)
- 1 part aloe vera hand gel
- 10 drops of essential oils such as lavender, lemon, peppermint
- 10 drops of tea tree oil (disinfectant effect)
- A few drops of vitamin E oil (optional)
- Mixing bowl
- Squeeze tube or bottle
Instructions
Mix everything well together in the mixing bowl and stir well until you get a nice even mixture. Using a funnel, pour the mixture into the squeeze tube or bottle. Use this regularly every day especially if you go outdoors. Spread the hand gel sufficiently until your hands feel dry.
With our quality drinks (vodka), we might not recommend this, this would be a waste. Rather use a cheaper, lower-quality vodka and let ours taste especially good in your personalised bottle.
